*2/13/04- MPIC RADAR Sting*

The MPIC conducted another RADAR sting on Putty Hill on Friday the 13th of February. While most CHC drivers were obeying the speed limit, four drivers out of about 35 were clocked at going more than 15 mph over the 30 mph limit. Next month, the MPIC and CHC's S.A.D.D. will team up to conduct a joint RADAR/seatbelt survey for student and parent drivers.

*12/4/03- MPIC postpones Military Day*

Due to inclement weather and the recent deployment of many of the guest-speakers and demonstrations, Military Day will be postponed to a date TBA. We are sorry for this inconvience.

*11/9/03- MPIC displays at CHC Open House*

The MPIC display at Open House was very attractive according to some students. Over 50 prospective students and their families visited the booth and asked questions. All in all, the display was very successful because some students confirmed that they would go to Calvert Hall to join the MPIC.

*11/1/03- MPIC prepares for CHC Open House and Military Day*

The MPIC will have a display at Calvert Hall's Open House on 11/9/03. Also, the club will be preparing for its second annual Military Day to be held on December 6th at 1:00 PM. Click Here for more information on the event.

*5/22/03- MPIC Ends School Year with a BANG!*

The Warrant Apprehension Task Force (W.A.T.F.) held a demonstration on May 22nd after school. Two city police officers and Sgt. Troska of the Maryland State Police showed their equipment to the students and shared stories about their careers. Students learned a lot about the law enforcement field and how to select a certain department over another. The MPIC ends the school year and looks to next year for more demonstrations, guest speakers, seminars, and Law Enforcement Day 2004!!

*3/23/03- Law Enforcement Day is fast approaching*

The second annual Law Enforcement Day is scheduled for Saturday April 5th from 2-4 PM. To learn more about LED 2003, please go here. The MPIC has taken great strides to ensure that there are many more demonstrations than were at last year's event. To view the current list of demonstrations, please click here. LED is open to the public and all visitors are asked to enter the school grounds from the parking lot adjacent to Paul Angelo Russo Stadium.

*2/11/03- MSP SMART Car*

The Maryland State Police brought one of their newest SMART patrols cars to CHC today to perform a demonstration for MPIC members. The vehicle is unique in that all patrol functions are accessible by a voice command. For example, by saying "Alert 3," the vehicle's lights and siren are activated. We thank Mr. Troska for helping to secure this opportunity for the club. The SMART car will also be present at Law Enforcement Day on April 5th.

*2/4/03- CHC Drivers Clocked*

Today, the MPIC held it's first RADAR survey at Calvert Hall. Inspired by S.A.D.D.'s (Students Against Destructive Decisions) seatbelt surveys, this survey used two RADAR guns to clock students and parents leaving school grounds. Two traps were set up. One on Putty Hill Ave. and on LaSalle Road, a road notorious for cars with excessive speed. A total of 9 MPIC members helped out in recording the stats, shooting the RADAR gun, and radioing cars that were leaving the CHC campus. Of the 106 cars that were clocked on Putty Hill Ave, 27 were caught traveling at least 10 mph over the posted 30 mph speed limit. On LaSalle Road, 40 our of 72 vehicles were speeding-that's an amazing 55.6%! The MPIC plans to have at least two more of these surveys before the school year comes to a close.

*1/10/03- LED Dates Set*

Law Enforcement Day 2003 has an official date. Saturday April 5th will be the initial date and Saturday April 12th (the following week) is scheduled as a rain-date. A rain-date seemed almost a must considering our luck with the weather. All agencies have been contacted and we are currently awaiting approvals and confirmations.  Please check out LED 2003's official site. More updates to come!

        *1/9/03- New Site Completed*

Version 2.0 of the MPIC's website has finally been completed and uploaded.

*12/5/02- Three CHC grads come to talk to group*

Stories were shared as well as helpful tips on living life as a cop. For several pictures of the meeting, please look below this article. We here at the MPIC thank them for coming in.
